Mike Edwards
The former youth team captain is now a major player at the heart of City's defence. He had a good, rather than excellent, season last year but often had to fill in at right back, which is not his natural position. He also scored his first goals for the club, his first coming in the F.A. Cup match against Hayes. He may find himself on the fringe of the starting line-up as City have a glut of central defenders, particularly with David Brightwell coming in and the likes of Whittle, Greaves and Goodison still in the squad.
